Notre histoire

Act for Haiti will soon be celebrating 15 years of continuous success in changing Children’s life for the better.

It all started when the « Communaute des Laiques Catholiques de Haiti » (CLCH) was founded under the direction of Madame Claudette Leconte, Haitian, in March 1997. CLCH was to support the poorest communities of Haiti and in 2001, opened a small temporary school with 24 children in the most deprived shantytown of the country. A benefactor noticed the positive impact of such program and decided to strongly support the organisation by donating a land in Vaudreuil, in the suburb of Cap-Haitien where the site is today. The American Foundation « Food for the poor » financed the construction of a school complex and a home for orphans & tutors.

Today, Act for Haiti comprises 423 children from age 2 to 25.
